National Feral Cat Day
October 16 and All Year Round
National Feral Cat Day (NFCD) is your opportunity to help protect and improve the lives of cats around the county!
We know how much you care about cats and want to help protect them. Now you can celebrate NFCD by reaching out to others with the message that feral cats are healthy and happy outdoors and that Trap-Neuter-Return improves cats' lives. Get involved and show your support for stray and feral cats by distributing educational materials or hosting local events like workshops, fundraisers, or special neuter clinic days.
Cat lovers in Venice will celebrate National Feral Cat Day, the national movement to support Trap, Neuter, Return programs for outdoor cat colonies across the United States. NFCD has been observed for eight years in the United States. In north Sarasota County, several private non-profit groups operate programs to help cat colonies and homeless cats. Venice, Northport and Englewood have many animal groups but none is dedicated to helping ferals, which are cats that are living outdoors due to abandonment by humans.
This event is sponsored by:
The Venice Cat Coalition
Key West Cat Society
Feral Friends
The Cat House
Show your support of the No Kill movement to save the lives of homeless animals, in particular cats, by doing something to support the ferals on October 16th, 2009 (and all year round).
